Accelerating Into Senior Leadership

What are the aims of this course?

The main aims of this course are to:

  1. unable participants to explore what makes a successful senior leader
  2. explore what makes a successful application for a senior leader post
  3. learn what makes a successful interview for a senior leader post

What will you learn after completing this course?

Once you’ve completed this course, you will learn the following:

  1. better informed about the skills, qualities and knowledge required to be a successful senior leader
  2. you will be able to make job applications that will improve your chances for an interview
  3. you will be better prepared for a job interview for a senior leader post

Who can apply?

This course is open to teachers who have been in middle leader position for at least 1 year in either state or independent schools

What’s involved?

In this course you will be required to do the following:

  • reading, video or audio extracts
  • additional online reading
  • reflection in a personal log
  • group activities
  • case studies
  • role plays
  • presentations

You will cover the following units:

  1. What makes a successful senior leader?
  2. Understanding job and person specifications
  3. Preparing a successful application
  4. Preparing for the interview

Candidates will be allocated to a coach who will provide ongoing support.

Duration

This course will be covered over one weekend.
