Action Research Programme

What are the aims of this programme?

The main aims of this programme are to:

  1. create reflective practitioners
  2. promote research in education
  3. to promote collaboration
  4. to equip educators to lead action research to effect and inform educational development

How will I benefit from this programme?

After completing this programme, you will be:

  1.  a better reflective practitioner
  2. able to develop as a researcher
  3. to contribute to the development of education
  4. to inform and impact educational changes based on evidence

Who can apply?

This programme is open to any practitioners who are working with young people in either state, independent or supplementary schools

What’s involved?

In this programme you will be required to conduct a short piece of research on a given theme allocated by the Nida Trust. You will be given funding to support your work. Also, you will be given training by qualified mentors who will mentor and coach you through the whole process. As part of the research you will be required to do the following:

  1. complete a case study of your project
  2. present your findings to various educational events


The project will last for a term


The Nida Trust will provide an initial funding of £200 per project
